Cash-tastrophe is an interactive artwork that brings to light the concept of the "ADHD Tax," highlighting the hidden costs and financial challenges often faced by individuals with ADHD due to impulsivity or forgetfulness. Participants are invited to write down their impulsive or ADHD-related expenses on specially designed ADHD-themed fake currency and then shred it using a hand-crank shredder—symbolically releasing negative rumination and financial regrets.

The piece features a hand-operated shredder, its top spray-painted gold to emphasize the ironic "value" of impulsive spending. The ADHD-themed funny money, digitally designed and printed in bold black ink on vibrant green paper, enhances the tactile and visual experience. Additionally, I offer numbered, framed, full-color giclee prints of the humorous ADHD currency, providing participants with an opportunity to reclaim and celebrate their experiences in a meaningful and empowering way.

Participants often find this experience emotionally powerful, with many expressing a sense of release, relief, and even tears as they shred their financial regrets.
